Faculty-led Study Abroad Proposal Process

Proposals for faculty-led programs by College of Art and Design faculty are vetted by the college’s Study Abroad Committee and reviewed by the Dean for approval. Proposals should be reviewed a full calendar year prior to the term in which the proposed program would run to give appropriate advance time for planning and marketing. To submit a proposal, turn in the below documents to the chair of the College of Art and Design Study Abroad Committee (Sarah Thompson, setfaa@rit.edu) by the end of the fifth week of the fall term for programs planned for the following fall, and by the end of the fifth week of the spring term for programs intended to run the following spring or summer.

o Part I of RIT Global application form
o CV/Resume for all faculty members leading the program
o Personal statements for all faculty members leading the program (detailing specific professional experiences, connections and skills that contribute to the faculty member’s suitability to plan and lead the proposed program)
o Letter of support (signed by both your program and school administrative chairs)

The College of Art and Design Study Abroad Committee will review your submission and provide you with feedback. If your proposal is approved at this stage, you should complete the following for review:

o RIT Global Part II form
o draft course or topic outline
o draft budget

Application forms and the budget template can be found on the RIT Global website.
