CAD Study Abroad Proposals – New Summer Options!
August 23, 2016
The CAD Study Abroad committee is now accepting proposals for new or recurring faculty-led study abroad courses that would occur in fall 2017-18 academic year.
If you would like to propose a course, please submit the following materials to the CAD Study Abroad Committee by sending to firstname.lastname@example.org
Due week 5 of fall semester (Friday, September 23)
o CAD_Part_One_Study Abroad form
o Personal Statement (detailing specific professional experiences, connections, and skills that contribute to your suitability to plan and lead the proposed program)
o Letter of Support (signed by both your program and school administrative chairs)
Due week 8 of fall semester (Friday, October 21st):
o RIT Global Part II form (found at https://www.rit.edu/academicaffairs/global/faculty-led-programs
o draft course or topic outline
o draft budget (template will be provided)
Also, a recent development in financial structuring at the institute level may make summer study abroad courses more viable for CAD programs. For summer study abroad courses, CAD will now be able to cover faculty summer salaries out of tuition dollars. Summer salaries for study abroad courses will be calculated based on credit hours and number of participants rather than a faculty member’s base salary. The full details can be downloaded here –> Summer Study Abroad in CAD.
Proposals for Summer 2018 will be due in March of 2017.
Feel free to contact any member of the committee with your questions!
