HP’s Nigro to receive award, deliver lecture

Stephen Nigro, President of HP Inc.’s 3D printing business unit, will be on campus Tuesday, April 3, to accept the prestigious Melbert B. Cary Jr. Award from Rochester Institute of Technology’s College of Imaging Arts and Sciences (CAD).

As part of a daylong visit to RIT, Nigro is scheduled to deliver an open-to-all lecture from 2-3 p.m. in Golisano Hall auditorium (room 1400). The presentation, which will focus on 3D printing’s role in the $12 trillion manufacturing market, is hosted by CAD’ School of Media Sciences. Industrial design BFA capstone show reception

Seniors in Rochester Institute of Technology’s industrial design (BFA) program will showcase their capstone projects during a three-day exhibition in University Gallery. The featured students will be present for a reception from 4-5:30 p.m. Monday, April 2, in the gallery, and all are welcome to join in celebrating their work. The exhibit is set to remain on view through April 4.

MFA thesis exhibition opening reception

The first of two spring shows exhibiting thesis work of School for American Crafts and School of Art MFA candidates is set for March 30-April 12 in Bevier Gallery. The opening reception will take place from 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 30, in the gallery.

Furniture design alumni slated for guest lecture

Rochester Institute of Technology furniture design alumni David Short and George Dubinsky are returning to campus for a public guest lecture at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, March 29, in Booth Hall, room 2631. The talk is sponsored by the furniture design program.

Short and Dubinsky are the founders of Edgewood Made, a designer and producer of high-quality furniture and home goods for the contemporary home.
