Microsoft Office 2016 for Mac now available to Faculty and Staff. Lab rollout to start tonight.

Faculty can now upgrade their Microsoft installations to the latest release, version 2016.  This will not be a forced upgrade at this time and is in the control of the Faculty member to decide when to move forward.

When your ready to move forward, you will find the individual applications ( Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and OneNote ) listed in the Managed Software Center application under the “Software” tab.  The software requires your computer to be on Mac OS X Yosemite 10.x or later and will not show up if you are not on this OS version.

Please note:  Outlook users will need to import their email accounts into Outlook 2016.  I have created a How To ( https://CAD-confluence.rit.edu/x/taC5 ) to assist end users in moving forward themselves.  As always, if you have problems please submit a ticket online at our helpdesk at http://helpdesk.CAD.rit.edu.

Lab Upgrade Schedule:

Mac Labs will be slowly upgraded over the next week to make sure no issues pop up.  Once confirmed we are good, Office 2011 will be uninstalled from the labs.  Please report any issues with lab computers during the transition to our help desk as well, http://helpdesk.CAD.rit.edu.
