Cash and credit are the accepted payment methods.

Make your own hot glass object fundraiser

Rochester Institute of Technology’s glass program is hosting a make-your-own hot glass object fundraiser to support an educational trip this spring.

The public (18 years of age and older) is invited to partake in sessions led by RIT glass students, who will teach participants how to make a paperweight in the hot shop or a marble pendant in the flame shop that they will take home.

The one-hour classes are offered from noon-5 p.m. April 14 and 15 in Booth Hall, rooms 3633 and 3730. They are $30 for students and $50 for anyone else. read more

‘What We Do’ photojournalism exhibit

The Rochester Institute of Technology’s student chapter of the National Press Photographers Association will present the 17th annual “What We Do” exhibition at Makers Gallery and Studio, 34 Elton St., Rochester.

The exhibit is a showcase of work by 15 RIT photojournalism students that was honored in this year’s What We Do competition. An open-to-the-public opening reception is scheduled for 5-8 p.m. Friday, April 13, at the gallery.

The multi-category contest is judged each year by a panel of RIT photojournalism alumni. This spring’s judges were Chloe Coleman (Washington Post photo editor), Seth Gitner (associate professor in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University) and Amy Rossetti (White House picture editor). read more
