CADTech Updates to JIRA Service Desk

Hello CAD Students, Faculty and Staff

During the Christmas break CAD Tech has been busy upgrading our online support ticketing system to a new platform.
This new platform offers us a variety of new and sleek features to better serve the CAD community.

  • Online knowledge base. We will be building out the knowledge base with howto and troubleshooting tips and tricks
  • Better email responses and tracking. The new emails look great and filled with great information
  • Easy to use. This new system is a joy to use!

The old URL you have been using for years still works. http://CAD-helpdesk.rit.edu

We have also created a new easy to remember URL: http://helpdesk.CAD.rit.edu

Once you log into the new system you will be presented with this great interface to either searcg for a solution to your problem, or select a category and get help that way. This software will try to match up your request to documents in our Knowledge base that may help you solve the problem without having to wait for us! read more

    I. Grant Writing Support:

    It is believed that the Institute-wide grant writing support is focused more on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and less on the humanities.     Faculty and Staff Success recognition process

    CAD is instituting a formal process to recognize the accomplishments and awards of its schools, departments and individual faculty, staff and students. This would include RIT and CAD awards, grants awarded, awards or honors in a specific discipline or industry, student scholarships, etc.

    If you have an accomplishment that you would like to have recognized, please provide the following information to your school’s office:

    • • Name and Contact information for who received the award
    • • Name of CAD school, office, department, or center
    • • Name of the award
    • • Name of the sponsor
    • • A short description of the award/honor
    • • Image to post with the story (a high resolution image is necessary for feature stories on the CAD website)

    The CAD school or department should email the complete information to Lucas Barber, CAD Marketing and Communications Manager lmbpgd@rit.edu. He will post the story out to the appropriate channels including: the CAD website news and school page, CAD social media, and/or the CAD newsletter and University News. read more
